About us
Three Churches, One Parish
Welcome to the Anglican Parish of Hornby, Templeton & West Melton, a combination of three churches in the west of Christchurch. We are an eclectic mix who are amazed by God's love for us through Jesus. We love God’s word and experience how it equips and motivates us for our daily worship, in our workplaces, homes and neighbourhoods.
Each church is unique but still enjoys getting together and celebrating their differences in worship and shared meals. All the churches have a strong connection with their local communities.
Parish Vision
Our purpose is to increase the community’s awareness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to encourage and support people in their getting to know Him.
We are guided in our common life by the Anglican Church's internationally adopted Five Marks of Mission:
To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
To respond to human need by loving service
To transform unjust structures of society, challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth
