Funerals

Thank you for considering Hornby Anglican Parish to help you at this challenging time.

At such a time, grief, sorrow, and bereavement are both natural and appropriate. We would like to help you remember the life of your loved one and to share the hope we have in God’s grace and power over death. Funerals and memorials can take place at either St Columba's Church (Hornby), St Saviour's Church (Templeton), St Paul's Church (West-Melton), or offsite at your preferred location.

We offer a traditional Anglican service officiated by either the Vicar, a licensed clergy member in the Parish, or alternative ordained Christian minister from outside of the parish. They will work with you to ensure that it fits your family and loved one. They will meet with you and your family to plan the funeral service and explain the various options that you have to make it a special and meaningful farewell.

Any person may have a funeral or memorial service at a Hornby Anglican Parish Church, regardless of membership and where they have been or are to be interred (buried).

Fees

Please do not assume a minister or church funeral is unaffordable. It’s very important to us that weddings are accessible to all so please let us know if our standard fees are going to be a problem.

Minister's fee | $250

Audio/Visual operator (optional) | $100

Pianist/Organist (if required) | $100

Catering help (if required) | $100

Travel reimbursement fee (for offsite weddings) | Charged at the current govt km rate
