Weekly Notices - 1 December 2024
This Sunday begins an interim phase in the life of the parish. I’m pleased to tell you that all the Sunday services and Christmas services are covered. Also two of the three remaining Thursday services are covered.
At St Columba’s, Revd Glenda Hicks will be covering the services through December and January. At St Saviour’s Revd’s Andrew Hoggan and David Hastings will be covering December and January services. At St Paul’s, Archdeacon Mark Chamberlain is covering all the December services.
The January 19 service at St Paul’s will be special with a visit from our mission partner Adrienne Worth who will be back on furlough from Cambodia.
It was a real joy for Margi and me to see so many of you in church last Sunday for our final service together. On top of that there were 12 people who for various reasons couldn’t be there, putting in apologies. We appreciated the prayer, your kind gift, the magnificent bunch of flowers, and the kind words expressed.
For a while Margi and I will be just a memory, but we do hope that our paths will cross again, and we will continue to pray God’s blessing over the parish.

Prayer for the Regeneration of Our Diocese
As the kotuku gently rests upon the tree, come Holy Spirit and rest upon us as we pray for the regeneration of our Diocese.
Silence
Everliving God, through your Spirit you constantly renew the whole creation; bring regeneration to your Diocese of Christchurch, grant us courage to grow disciples of Jesus, give us vision to reach young people and their families, and strengthen us to create vibrant communities of faith. All this we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
