Weekly Notices - 16 March 2025
My wife T and I bring you greetings from West Africa (The Gambia and Liberia)
We serve in an organisation called samaritanagambia.com
Rescuing, Rehabilitating, Restoring and Prosecution of children who are being raped at the rate of over 200 a month. That's our ugly horrible ministry. It’s a humbling and incredible honour being used by God to let loose a team from their society to drop everything at a moments notice to go and rescue AND arrest and carry them to a safe home and carry the other to the police, then to the magistrate, then to the remand prison for these evil animals (40% of our girls are preteen).
The team are our heroes...
So, it's definitely sabbatical time for the both of us.
I come from a small multi church background, Foxton and Diamond Harbour parishes, we are both really looking forward to meeting you, and listening to you and listening to what the Lord may want to say to you.
I was born and bred in Lyttelton, and T and I met in Darwin online. I've never had a part time ministry so I'm bound to make a few mistakes like a new curate…. Maybe I should apologise in advance.
Our joint fb profile is PA Chrisp and samaritana West Africa is an insight to what is our life’s work.
ALL Glory to Jesus. In His grip
Patrick and T (Trusella)
This week Rev’d John Sheaf will be preaching at St Columba’s, Hornby, and St Paul’s West Melton, and Archdeacon Nick Mountfort will be preaching at St Saviour’s, Templeton.
Today’s service
Sentence: Rend your hearts and not your garments; turn back to the Lord your God who is gracious and compassionate, long-suffering and abounding in love. (Joel 2:13) [NZPB, p. 575]
Prayer of the Day: Everliving God, you desire to gather into one all who are dispersed, and to keep together all whom you have gathered; look with compassion on all who are baptised, and unite us all in faith and love; through the same Jesus Christ who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer for Leading Your Church into Growth
God of mission, who alone brings growth to your Church, send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning, wisdom to our actions, joy to our worship, and power to our witness. Help our parish churches to grow in numbers, in spiritual commitment to you, and in service to our local community. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
