Weekly Notices - 17 November
As many of you will be aware Les has been unwell and he has asked me to write something for the weekly handy sheet so here it goes. Firstly we need to keep praying for Les’s full recovery and hopefully rapid recovery. He has been working so hard to ensure that the services through Christmas and to the end of January are all organised before he retires from full time ministry and we need to be extremely grateful for all he has done for this parish in an effort to not simply keep it going but for it to grow.
I know you will all be concerned as to where the future is going to take us, but don’t get stressed, because God is in control and the best thing we can do is to pray that God’s will for our parish will be done. Pray for our Bishop who has the task of making the ultimate decisions, and for our Warden’s and Vestry and Synod reps who will have the responsibility of seeing that the transition and what will probably be a period of temporary ministry goes as smoothly as possible.
I look forward to helping out at Templeton through December and January and take this opportunity to wish the whole parish a really blessed and prayer-filled Advent and a blessed Christmas and Epiphany as we face the future with confidence and hope in God who has brought us this far by His grace and love.
David Hastings (Revd)

Prayer for the Regeneration of Our Diocese
As the kotuku gently rests upon the tree, come Holy Spirit and rest upon us as we pray for the regeneration of our Diocese.
Silence
Everliving God, through your Spirit you constantly renew the whole creation; bring regeneration to your Diocese of Christchurch, grant us courage to grow disciples of Jesus, give us vision to reach young people and their families, and strengthen us to create vibrant communities of faith. All this we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
