Weekly Notices - 2 March 2025

This week Rev’d Glenda Hicks will be preaching at St Columba’s, Hornby and St Saviour’s, Templeton Churches. Rev’d John Sheaf will be preaching at St Paul’s Church, West Melton.

The gospel  this week is Luke 6:39-49, these verses show us how God intends us to live together. It is easier to find fault in others than in oneself.  This should be a challenging week as we head towards Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent.

Today’s service

Sentence: So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty. (Isaiah 55:11)

Prayer of the Day: Grant, O God, that the course of this world may be directed by your powerful governance, and that your church may be joyful as, in confidence and serenity, we serve your purpose; through Jesus Christ, our Saviour who is alive with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Readings: St Columba’s & St Saviour’s: Isaiah 55:6-11, 2 Timothy 3:10-17 & Luke 6:39-49

Prayer for Leading Your Church into Growth

God of mission, who alone brings growth to your Church, send your Holy Spirit to give vision to our planning, wisdom to our actions, joy to our worship, and power to our witness.  Help our parish churches to grow in numbers, in spiritual commitment to you, and in service to our local community.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
