Weekly Notices - 3 November

Some are asking ‘what is happening with services in December/January?’. While there is still some time to go before we get there I want to share some good news with you. I have been seeking to fill in all the sermon slots. This begins by praying that this would be done with the Lord’s help.

Then quite unexpectedly an email arrived from someone who said, “they felt compelled to help.” Other gaps have been filled organically, but January 19, 2025, was vacant when an enquiry came as to whether that specific date was available (thank you Lord). Now there are now just three slots to fill over the entire parish. One is the first Sunday in December and the other two are the first two Thursday services in December. Please keep praying that all will fit seamlessly into place.

Last Saturday 370 Anglicans joining together for the Living Faith Conference. Ten people were able to go from our parish, Justine, Don, Denise, Jean, Karen, Deborah, Glenys, Doris, Margi, and Les. The focus of the conference was how do we get alongside people and relate. I encourage you to talk with anyone who was there for some insight on this.

 Les.

Responses from the St Saviour’s Prayer Community

1. Challenge ‘the men of the parish’ to begin praying for a bloke who is yet to know Jesus.

2. Encourage one another in the Lord Jesus. Seek to speak encouragingly to someone each day.

If you have a response from your prayer time with Jesus to share with the church, please do so, it is one way of encouraging each other.

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!

Prayer for the Regeneration of Our Diocese

As the kotuku gently rests upon the tree, come Holy Spirit and rest upon us as we pray for the regeneration of our Diocese.

Silence

Everliving God, through your Spirit you constantly renew the whole creation; bring regeneration to your Diocese of Christchurch, grant us courage to grow disciples of Jesus, give us vision to reach young people and their families, and strengthen us to create vibrant communities of faith. All this we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
