Weekly Notices - 13 October 2024

Currently we have seven people registered for the Living Faith Conference. There is still time to register as registrations close on Thursday October 17. I think it will be an excellent conference and it should be of great encouragement to us both individually and as a parish.

Our website is now up and running and the link is at the bottom of the page. While it is a work in progress it is now possible to start to see information both on the webpage and on the Facebook page. The two are linked for certain information.

Thank you to those who are coming on board to help with data et cetera across our three churches. We could still do with another person at St Saviour’s. We are encouraged at St Saviour’s with children coming to the service and a Sunday school is being planned.

We have now had a second encouraging word from another intercessory prayer about our future, it goes as follows:

“Wait for My plan to be put in place. Carry on as you are, when it is time, you will clearly see the way to go. It is essential you wait for Me.”

Spurgeon said, “Prayer is the lungs of the church.” Please keep your lungs exercised as we seek God’s direction and will.

Les.

Today’s service

Sentence: Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days (Psalm 90:14).

Prayer of the day: Kind and generous God, you prepare a feast for all people. May we prepare for your banquet by putting on the garment of love that springs from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a genuine faith. Help us to bring the lost and lonely, the poor and those in need to your feast where all are fed. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and for ever. Amen

Readings: Job 23:1-9, 16-17 & Mark 10:17-31

Our Mission partner in Cambodia: Good News Stories from Adrienne Worth

Grandma’s Glasses: At the end of Battambongs old bamboo train track sat a Grandma selling clothing and handmade bracelets to raise money for the education of her 6 grandchildren. Grandma, a Christian, needed glasses to read her Bible. Adrienne sourced glasses and stationery for the children and together with her church members delivered them.

Man in the Park: Remember last time she wrote Adrienne mentioned routinely meeting a man in the park where she went for a walk.  The update is that he is a chicken farmer. He consented to her giving him a Bible in the Khmer language, and then he attended their evening service.

End of Term:  As the THA school ends each class is encouraged to be creative with craft supplies. Some great creations resulted.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the Grandma and her grandchildren that money will be available for them to go to school.

  • That the Holy Spirit will lead the man in the park to Jesus.

  • Give thanks that the end of year gift bags given to students, we have permission to include a booklet about Jesus.

  • For Adrienne's ability to learn sign language so as to reach deaf children in the community.
