Weekly Notices - 18 August 2024
Exciting news! On Sunday, August 25, at St Saviour’s, we have a baptism. Akadius is bringing his parents, godparents, and wider family, along for his baptism. Can you please commit to praying for Aki, Alanis, and Akadius, and the wider family as we celebrate this special occasion when Akadius is baptised into the Church Family of God.
On Saturday, August 31 we have the opportunity to have a cake stall at the Templeton School fair. At our last cake stall people were very enthusiastic to buy home baking, jams, pickles, et cetera. To be successful we need an across the parish effort to stock the stall. This is a good opportunity for us as a parish to not only sell produce but to give a free leaflet letting people know of church service times, and various group activities that we have going in the parish.
A reminder also that next Friday, August 23, there is the opportunity to hear Ken Clearwater talking about “Understanding the Royal Commission of Enquiry into Abuse Report.” Venue All Souls Merivale, 5:30 pm-7 pm. Also can you put in your diary, the Diocese Service of Lament. Transitional Cathedral Thursday September 5, 7 Pm.
Les.

Prayer for the regeneration of our Diocese
As the kotuku gently rests upon the tree, come Holy Spirit and rest upon us as we pray for the regeneration of our Diocese. Silence
Everliving God, through your Spirit you constantly renew the whole creation; bring regeneration to your Diocese of Christchurch, grant us courage to grow disciples of Jesus, give us vision to reach young people and their families, and strengthen us to create vibrant communities of faith. All this we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
